Kitsilano Beach

Yesterday I rode the bicycle again and the destination was Kitsilano Beach. I just heard some people mention about that place, so I went there for "checking". However, I am a little bit later setting off.

People played volleyball on the sand; some chilled out sitting on the lumbers.

Riding along the seaside a harbour was located and many ships parked there.

Many families came this place together; kids played in the sea; the adults viewed the sunset.

Young guys still played volleyball on the sand and the dusk was ignored.

Then I was going to leave here to dt; it's the last glimpse of kits beach.

It's on the way home and I was standing on the bringe of Granville viewing the other bridge across. The lamps in the harbour was dim, but beautiful and calm.

DT and Eng. Bay

Yesterday the bicycle in the garage was fixed, and then I rode it to downtown. About 7 pm I started from my auntie's home; I chosen Granville St. instead of Cambie St. because Cambie was under construction for the Skytrain (like the MRT but overhead). Why did I choose downtown as my destination? I had no idea~ Maybe I just wanna be a flaneur viewing the city scenery. Anyway, I went to the English Bay finally. There was an extreme long cycle path along the seashore linking to Stanley Park. The cycle path was separated from the promenade clearly and not so crowded like the cycle paths in Bali or Danshui, so the cyclists could enjoy the cycling well rather than worry about the pedestrians. It's an easy route for the cycling this time, but while arriving the seaside, I sat on the bench to take a rest as well as watched the sunset and people walking their dogs. It must be great if there were companions sitting beside me this moment; just did some chilling out chatting. After the sunset, I came back to westside. The total distance of this route was about 20 kms and most of them were flat. Waht a carefree trip! lol

laid-back living

These days I got nothing to do, but watched lots of Korean operas. One opera after one anoter opera, the acction is like a drug addict. Anyway, watching too many Korean opreas makes me feel disgusting; it's the same as eating too many cheese cakes at one time. I'd better to do something meanful, like reading some articles and turning my "language system" to the English channel. It seems that I refuse to connect my daily life to Van--too lazy and decadent.

Just couple days ago, I checked the bicycle in the garage. Its tyres were flat. Though there was also a pump in the garage, it couldn't inflate the tube because of the different modes of vlaves. Anyway, the valve of the bicycle is the French mode, so I need to use a transitional stuff to connect the valve and the pump.

Then my sister drove me to the W. Broadway to get one. It's troublesome to buy that stuff because I didnt't know how to call it; I even had no idea of calling it in Chinese...Orz After explaining lots to the storekeeper, I knew it's called "valve adaptor" at the first store, but it was out of stock. I had to go to another store nearby to get it. When I entered the store, a bulky Black received me; he was busy fixing a bicycle. After telling him I need a valve adaptor, he passed me one; it's a very very little stuff. That made me doubt if it's realy the transitional stuff I need. Um...fianlly, he taught me how to use the valve adaptor step by step and the stuff was for free. OMG...I'm so lucky to meet a kind storekeeper....:P

Well, I will try to pump the tubes of the bicycle and ride it on next week, I guess. There are many cycle lanes in Van where the environment is more friendly to the cyclists; i.e. better cycle pathes, fresh air as well as cool and dry weather.
